Mission
Cambridge Housing Justice Coalition (CHJC) is a coalition of activist groups and concerned Cambridge residents who believe housing is a basic human right. The coalition includes The Black Response, Cambridge Residents Alliance, Our Revolution Cambridge, Alliance of Cambridge Tenants, and unaffiliated community members. CHJC has a plan to address housing needs. CHJC’s housing plan includes:
Putting people before profits and fighting gentrification and displacement.
Prioritizing BIPOC, no-income, low-income, and other marginalized people because they have been most adversely affected by the treatment of housing as a for-profit product and resulting in gentrification.
